We often hear about balancing our personal lives with our work lives, but this doesn’t provide much guidance on what to focus on. Looking instead at the components that make us human beings, and maintaining an effective balance of them, is a more productive approach. Following are those four major components and why each is so critical.
Physical – This should be obvious, but if you look around you’ll see lots of examples of people who don’t focus on maintaining their physical self. This doesn’t mean that we all need to be bodybuilders, marathon runners, or whatever else you see and hear in the physical realm, but it does mean that we need to maintain some minimum level of physical health in order to allow the other three components to work effectively.
Cognitive – Some people think cognitive development is something that only happens in college, but the reality is that it begins at birth and doesn’t stop until we die (well ideally it wouldn’t stop until then, but for many, I’m afraid it does much earlier). Development of one’s cognitive component means becoming more capable of differentiating between different levels and elements of what we deal with. To use a simple example, an apple is much more complex than just a sweet, red fruit. It can also be green, sour, and different sizes, even when ripe.
Emotional – Our ability to function is not just dependent on how well we are able to move (the physical component) or think (the cognitive component), but also how well we’re able to handle the impact of our thoughts (the emotional component). Someone who overreacts to a situation is someone who has not yet developed the ability to manage their emotions, and it often results in disastrous outcomes.
Spiritual – For some this is religion while for others it is philosophy. Regardless of how one approaches it, the spiritual component is one that recognizes that all in life cannot be easily explained, and that we need higher-level values to help us deal with that complexity.
How much one focuses on each of these human components will of course depend on personal situations and priorities, but at a minimum we need to ensure that we maintain some minimum level of competency, since a significant weakness in any can cause others/all to fail (e.g., there are significant interactions between the four). One would do well to continually assess where the more significant opportunities for improvement lie.

5 Ways to Eliminate Distractions
and Get More Done Now!
1. Know a distraction when you hear it, see it or feel it
Some distractions are simply interruptions. “The average American worker is interrupted six times per hour” (Arizona Republic, 10/3/99). Think about it: If each interruption eats five minutes, you could squander four-hours each day. Think about the phone calls, e-mails and other tasks that pull you away from your main focus. By acknowledging these events as “distractions” you can control them rather than letting them control you.
2. Multi-task in moderation
Resist multi-tasking and save time. “Workers’ productivity decreases by 20 to 40% every time they multitask” (University of Michigan in 2001). Each time your concentration is broken you have to spend time retracing your steps getting back where you started. Allow yourself to concentrate on one task at a time.
3. De-clutter your space
Clear your workspace before beginning a task. Move non-essential papers out of sight. Make room for your ideas and get rid of anything that will draw you away from your main focus.
4. De-clutter your schedule
Are you reacting to issues as they arise? Is your “to do” list endless? Be realistic about what you can accomplish. Each day choose three to five tasks you’d feel good about accomplishing. And take the time to streamline your activities. When possible, group similar activities together. Instead of running one errand, group and complete them when you will already be out of the office. Instead of checking e-mail messages as they come in, set aside a half hour to handle them all at once.
5. De-clutter your mind
Fight the urge to work faster: Save time by slowing down. Try this at the beginning of the day, when you feel overwhelmed or low on energy and before you begin a new task. Meditate, go for a walk, or just take a few long deep breaths to clear your mind. Give yourself permission to have the time you need to do what’s important. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

Bringing through information from God, The Holy Spirit, Divine Source to clients brings tremendous joy. With this joy is also a deep and important responsibility to bring through only the pure truth, and not censor the information, even if it might not be what a client wants to hear.
Out of the thousands of clients located all over the globe I have brought through information for, there have been a total of three that were “not happy.”
One was a 42 year old person in a deeply enmeshed relationship with their parents, still living at home, under the rule of Mom and Dad. It came through that the person needed to claim their independence, learn self sufficiency, and live their life purpose.
Another person drank alcohol seven days a week and it came thorough that they were an alcoholic, and if they wanted their life to change, becoming sober would be required.
Another person felt deeply insecure in their marriage. The description of the person’s spouse’s personality came through, and that it would take the client between three to five years to come to terms with their unhappiness in their marriage, so that they can have one with a spouse that was not flirting with others, even in front of the client, as this was causing the client feelings that were unpleasant to say the least.
So while there is great care in a client’s joy and happiness, there came deep sadness in “not pleasing” a client. What is a pure channel to do? Censor the information? Candy coat it to ease the client’s ego? Or dare to bring through the pure truth from God, the Holy Spirit, Divine Source, even if it may not be what a client “wants to hear”? I am a big believer in the saying: “The truth shall set you free” as well as: “To thine own self be true.” I would not be doing the client any favor whatsoever to censor what they might not want to hear, for this is a part of their soul growth, and even in planting the seeds of truth, somehow, somewhere in “time” the client will hopefully face their deepest truth so that they can soar on all levels of their life.
I remember sitting feeling great sadness in not “pleasing a client” and I thought to myself: “this must be how Jesus felt when he was lashed out at for bringing truth to others, even when they did not want to hear it.” Then, I learned from a respected colleague that all my responsibility was, was to bring through the truth. How they take it, and what they do with the information has nothing to do with me, nor can I “save or fix” them. Moreover, I do not have any control whatsoever of their reactions.
So in this light, a pure channel cannot take anything personally.
We are to simply bring through the pure truth, and pray that the client will do only that which is for his or her highest good.
We can only have a pure heart, and pure motives, to be of Divine service to help clients by bringing through pure truth from the light of God, The Holy Spirit, Divine Source. However, It is not our “responsibility” to do the work for our clients.

Firstly when you consider environment how do you view it? What are your thoughts regarding it? Do you feel there is you and the environment? Or do you feel that you and the environment are one and the same? In the physical case, there is you, then there are the trees, mountains, rivers, ocean’s and animals, just to name a few. This is how we view it generally. This is how we are educated. Even in terms of our body, there is me and my body. So there is me and everything else.
The brain likes junk food but the body over time fairs poorly and conditions arise such as obesity or diabetes. We weigh convenience over health and this is the same for environment.
Now I myself do it and I wonder why? I am writing this from a perspective of questioning, not making statements or judgments. We know certain things are bad for us but we continue to do it.
In the educational system you are told or given information daily. In this type of a system the objective is to follow what you are being told. You may question but it is within that system. Yet we are faced with challenges in our daily lives. In the current system there is very little dialogue about who we are, the factors of thinking, our conditioning, the environment. What we as human beings are doing in the world. What is our relationship to the world? What is relationship as a whole?
The lack of understanding about ourselves, relationships and the challenges we face are leading to an ideological lifestyle that invariably will bring about conflict within ourselves and as a consequence environment.
An ideological way of life puts us out of touch. Ideologies are relative to conditioning. This is relative to information which is relative to a certain place at a certain time. Everyday we have ideas and those ideas judge more ideas. We are consumed with what we think.
You are not separate from your body or environment although you may think you are. If you were, you would not breathe, you would not eat, you would not need the sun. You are not separate from the water you drink that makes up most of your physical being. Take a moment to go into this for yourself. Just understand ideals for what they are. Ideals are ideals they are neither good nor bad. Take a moment to look around. Take a moment to listen to you heart beat. Life, You and environment are one and the same, so take a moment to live and nurture life.
