One of the key components to the Law of Attraction is the belief that by visualising a goal, this goal will manifest itself. Although I am fairly skeptical about the Law of Attraction, there is certainly some value to this statement.
We tend to limit ourselves because we think we are not capable of achieving a goal, not worthy of finding a loving relationship, not deserving of financial success or not able to obtain a University qualification, the list is endless of what we feel we cannot do. By the fact that we visualise a goal having been achieved, this limiting belief is overcome.
I think that we do not achieve to the maximum of our capacity because we talk ourselves out of it. Successful people might have moments of self-doubt, but on the whole they are convinced that their idea will make it and they will make good money pursuing that idea. They have solid self-belief in their capabilities. An outsider might even consider that they shouldn’t have that belief because they are not intelligent enough, don’t have enough knowledge, or not enough capital to invest in the development of the idea. How often are these outsiders proven wrong. Many times.
Yet for most of us, the list of our limiting beliefs far outweighs the list of the things we believe we can do and achieve. The list gets longer as we get older and we tend to focus our powerful thoughts on all of our mistakes and failures. As we get older, we tend to have less and less faith in ourselves. What is even worse, that added to that is society that supports that. Older people have to retire, they are banished to old age homes, their opinions do not count anymore, nobody considers them a consumer anymore, the list goes on.
Every one of these negative elements will add to the fact that as one gets older, our belief system becomes more and more negative and we believe that we cannot accomplish anything. However, is that really true? Some folks, in their 70s, 80s and even older, have achieved amazing things. They have been outstanding presidents of countries, they have finished marathons, they have won Nobel prizes, they have managed or even started huge business empires and many more examples.
What distinguishes these people from the you and I’s. The main thing is that they believed that they could do it. They did not allow anything to get in their way. Not their age, not any physical frailty, not any perception of society could stop them from achieving their goal. It doesn’t even occur to them to consider that their age could deter them.
If you find yourself, having grown older, not even anticipating that it would happen so quickly, suddenly facing a lonely retirement, a retirement without sufficient funds, or just a retirement that is too early for your active brain and healthy body. What are you going to do? Are you going to accept that the decline has set in? After all people are telling you this. Or are you going to say, move over world, here I come. I want another shot at a career, a new relationship or a goal to run a marathon or ride a bike from London to Brighton. You can do it, you just have to believe that can. It’s that simple. Believe in yourself. Take up the mantra of ‘I can do it’. It will allow you to achieve beyond your wildest dreams. Try it, you will surprise yourself!

Experiencing strong emotions is not an uncommon experience. What is uncommon is applying these emotions to motivate you to change and grow.
Having said that, here are five emotional states that can change your life, if you take action on them: commitment, desire, disgust, decision and focus.
Commitment – If you are committed there is always a way, and usually more than one way. The key phrase here is if you are committed. Commitment in a relationship, exercise, career or achieving goals means that no matter what, I’m sticking, I’m seeing this through.
One of the nice things about commitment is that when you are committed to something, you seem to find your self involved with other committed people. The late singer-songwriter Harry Chapin once said “whether it’s to a cause, a relationship or something else, when you hang out with people who are committed you hang out with the folks with the live hearts, the live minds, the live eyes.”
Applied to marriage, this notion of commitment is much more than just being committed to not divorce. It’s the commitment that you will do everything in your power to make the relationship a great place to be.
Desire – How bad do you want to beat Edgewater!! my high school football coach screamed in my face as he caught me going a little too easy one day in practice. That one has stayed with me because he was right, the amount of desire I had that day was showing up in the actions I was choosing to take. Desire is reflected in your actions. Desire with little or no action is not worth much. So ask your self frequently, “how much do I want this?”
Disgust – Not typically an emotion associated with positive change. Or is it? Have you ever been disgusted with a situation, a relationship or yourself. Most of us have, of course. But have you ever been so disgusted that you were motivated to change no matter what? Being sick and tired of being sick and tired with a situation can be a fantastic motivator for change when you decide “no more, not again, not ever!”
Decision – The root word for decision is incision, which means to cut. So when you decide, I mean really decide, that something will be different in your life, you “cut off” any other possibility. And it’s reflected in your view of and attitude toward life. Bill Marriot, of Marriot Hotels said, “Failure? I’ve never encountered it. I just stumbled over a few temporary setbacks.” That’s decision in motion.
Focus – Each one of us is bombarded every day with hundreds of things trying to get our attention. Focus is an emotional state that pulls together commitment desire, disgust, and decision. When I see someone struggling with where they want to go, one of the first places I look is their power of focus. We tend to be pulled toward that which we focus on. Lack of focus usually equals lack of success and achievement. Focus on all the distractions pulling for your attention, you are not like ly to get where you want to go. Focus on where you want to go and you are likely to get there.
Commitment, desire, disgust, decision and focus.
Don’t just experience these emotional states, apply them to create the life you desire.

Have you ever wondered why even the very best, in any profession receive coaching? Have you ever thought about why a top-notch athlete, like Tiger Woods, would need coaching?
Why is it that so many successful real estate agents have used coaching to get to the top?
There’s a saying that “7% of all the agents do 93% of all the business… and the rest don’t have coaches.” What do the top 7% know that the 93% don’t know? This article will answer this question and many more about why even the very best receive coaching.
What is coaching?
When coaching first became a profession about 15 years ago, people didn’t know what it meant to have a coach. If you told them you had a coach, they would ask, “What sport are you in?”
In 1995, Newsweek ran an article that predicted that coaching would become the fastest-growing profession. Not only that, but instead of people asking, “What’s coaching?” they would be asking, “Who is your coach?”
That prediction has come true. Coaching has become the fastest growing profession.
Why do real estate agents often work with Business Coaches?
Having been a real estate business Coach for over 10 years,
I have noticed the profound need that real estate agents have for a Business Coach. Why is this?
• Real estate agents, always need to be “on”, they are always selling to the public. If you are real estate agent, you know this to be true. Your level of confidence needs to be continually high to attract clients.
• You are aware of how easy it is to get distracted. There are always multiple demands on your time. Many agents come to me complaining that they are feeling scattered and they want my help to get focused and stay focused.
• Prospecting is a big part of your work, and unless you are a natural extrovert. It takes a lot to pick up the phone and start calling people. I am amazed at how many agents, when they first come to me, are even scared to call up their former clients or their sphere of influence.
• Using the right marketing strategies is imperative. If you are spending a lot of time and money on the wrong ones, you’re in big trouble and a coach can spot that mistake right away and help you make the right decisions.
• With the changing market, mindset has become more important than ever. A negative view of today’s current market will lower your confidence significantly, reducing your sales and overall income. Now more than ever, real estate agents need coaches to help them see the opportunities in every market.
• If you are a seasoned agent, you know how easy it is to fall into a slump or “hit the wall” as someone was telling me today. When you hit the wall, it’s somewhat like being in quicksand. Try as you might, you can’t pull yourself out.
• Last but not least, there is the issue of support. As a real estate agent, think of how many people you support on a daily basis. You are the support for all of your clients, all of your former clients, all of your prospects, and if you have kids, you are their support as well.
Who supports you? Who can you count on to lean on for yourself? This is where coaching fills a big need. When you have a coach, you have a committed ally, someone who is in your corner from week to week and is rooting for your success. How supportive do you think that feels? In addition, the coach can help you to see your “blind spots” and move past them.
Why do some people “resist” receiving coaching?
A reason that people often give is “I can’t afford it.” This actually turns out to be bogus, for the simple reason that coaching pays for itself. I ask my clients to think of how many transactions they need to close to pay for coaching. The answer is always the same. “The coaching pays for itself.” Why? Because one transaction will cover the cost of coaching many times over.
So if money is not the real reason, then why do people resist something that would help them?
In my 10 years of coaching, plus my 20 years before that of being a psychologist, I have noticed that the real reasons people resist coaching are issues that they are unaware of. Here’s what I have discovered:
• Most people have a hidden belief that goes like this, “I have to do it alone.” The idea of having someone help them does not fit in with their mindset. They think it means that they are not as good as they should be. I always remind these people that even Tiger Woods has a coach. Why? Because he has blind spots and we all have blind spots.
• Many people unknowingly have a block about “receiving.” Have you noticed that some people cannot even receive a compliment? These same people pride themselves in being givers. There’s nothing wrong with being a giver, but unless you can also receive, you are not in balance. Stephen Covey advises us, “Make sure that every interaction is a win/win.” In other words, you should be giving and receiving and being open to receiving guidance.
If your business is growing steadily, year after year, you probably don’t need a business Coach, unless you feel unbalanced between your personal and professional life.
On the other hand, if you’ve been struggling with getting more clients, getting more listings, and having a balanced lifestyle, then it’s time to let go of the belief that you can do it alone.
It’s time to receive help from a coach or a mentor.
Be sure that whoever you choose, has plenty of experience, and specializes in the particular issues that are currently a challenge for you.

A Golden Rule To Manage Job/Workplace Stress: Having gone for a sea bath, don’t be afraid of the oncoming waves. Take your plunge!
* Getting a job, involves lots of stress.
* Getting a job, without the stressful environment, is a blessing.
* Getting a job, with the type work profile that you like, a cheerfully disposed staff, and the administration that maintains the human relations at its best, is a boon!
You put in your best efforts, but everyone around you is dissatisfied. The reasons are beyond your understanding. Your fellow-workers are not happy with you; some of them do not hesitate to taunt you. Your boss frowns at you for nothing. Your wife nags you for your late arrival by 30 minutes from the office. Traveling through public transport, leaving your kid to school, going to the market in between hustle and bustle of office and home-what more is required for you to say, ‘oh, this hellish life!’
These are some of the issues that contribute to your job workplace stress.
If someone else is to be blamed for your stress, blame yourself much more for giving that prominent place for the Satan of stress. Throw him out lock, stock and barrel from your personality. Take a firm stand. Yes, it is possible; it is achievable.
A story goes thus: An educated youngster, fed up of his job workplace stress, ran away to Himalayas. There he met a Yogi. The youngster prostrated at his feet with all humility, and prayed that he wants to stay at His hermitage, as he was fed up of the city life and the job workplace stress.
Yogi’s reply was historic: Don’t runaway to any Ashram; create an Ashram, where you are!
What you need to to is to analyze and understand your stress. Take out the negativities one by one. Unburden the burden! Mind in itself, doesn’t have any existence. It is supposed to be a bundle of thoughts. Take out the thoughts, one by one and reduce the heavy load that you unnecessarily carry on your head.
There was another young man who wanted to take a bath in the sea. He stood at the seashore all the time worrying- let these waves disappear from the ocean, then I will take bath. Will that situation ever be possible? The message to such an youngster would be- having gone for a sea bath, don’t be afraid of the oncoming waves. Take your plunge!
With a positive bent of mind it is possible to control and transcend job workplace stress. Stick to your job, have patience and understanding! Go placidly amidst the noise and din. Everything is happening, as it should!
